Britney Spears was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after a hostage-like situation outside of her home at "The Summit" gated community in which she lives. Videotape of the incident can be seen below:
It was a chaotic scene outside of Britney's home last night. Sources are still trying to understand what exactly caused the night to escalate into such a scene. At this point, OK! Magazine reports that after Britney gave her deposition in court yesterday at approximately 11:30a.m., Pacific Time, she returned to her home at 12:20p.m.. Little was heard from her until the evening arrived and that's when things got crazy. Specifically, OK! reports that the following chain of events occurred:
8:00pm: The police are notified of a custodial situation at Britney's house and officers are dispatched to The Summit. But when they arrive, they find that the court-appointed monitor, who has been locked out of the house, is not in possession of the paperwork required to allow them to enter Britney's house.
9:20pm: K-Fed's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan arrives at The Summit with the required paperwork. He and five police cars enter the gated community and drive up to Britney's house.
10:30pm: More than a dozen police officers, as well as two ambulances and a handful of fire rescue trucks are now on the scene. Sometime before 11:00pm, Britney's cousin Alli and Brit's assistant Carla leave the house, leaving Brit alone with Jayden James.
11:45pm: Britney is taken out of her home strapped to a gurney and placed into an ambulance, which is escorted by 13 police cars with sirens blaring to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, arriving at approximately 12:30am. Jayden is brought to the hospital in a separate vehicle.
Police officers are inside the ambulance with Britney during the ride to the hospital. While nothing official has been stated on the topic, this is generally a sign that the patient is considered to be in police custody.
Wow, this is getting scary. Britney hiding off in her home holding onto her little infant child like a hostage. This is like something straight out of a Hollywood fantasy world. Oh wait, I forgot, Britney's entire life is some sort of strange fantasy world. Nevermind. We will keep you posted on any further developments as they are available.
By the way, she better have given an unbelievably good deposition in court yesterday, because this definitely can't help with the whole custody battle thing.
And to think, Britney started the day off okay... here she is all dressed up arriving at court yesterday morning before everything went crazy. It's like someone took a beautiful flower in a garden in the morning and stomped on it viciously with a work boot by night. It's sad, really.
