Legal expert Susan Filan says that what happened with Britney last night is not going to help her in the custody battle with K-Fed. Really? That's odd, because I always thought that hiding your child from his or her legal guardian while you were going through an episode of hysterics during a police standoff at your house would help your cause in something like a custody battle. Silly me, I guess I was wrong. Specifically, People Magazine reports:
As for the standoff that ensued, as well as, it has been assumed, arguments in front of the children by the parents, Filan said the courts are also likely to take a very dim view. She also said that this could pave the way for Federline to be in charge of determining all future decisions involving the boys.
"You've directly traumatized your children. You've directly interfered with their well-being and stability," she said, referring to Spears.
"Now that we got this added issue of substance abuse," Filan continued, "the court may very well have to intervene and cut off visitation, which is tough for a court , because a court doesn't want to deprive a child from its mom. This is really emotional stuff."
Concluded Filan: "These kids are now, I think, directly being harmed by the mother who … is spiraling out of control. I think she's just about done.""
Well, yes, all of that clearly is not good and would, in fact, cause problems for Britney when she finally returns to the courtroom to fight for her children again. However, those suspicions of substance abuse might actually be contrary to the facts... so if it's anything that could possibly save Britney is that she's really just crazy and she's not acting like a lunatic because she abuses drugs, but rather she really just has mental problems. Life & Style says that they have proof that amidst the madness last night, Britney was clean the whole time! Life & Style says: Life & Style can exclusively report that Britney Spears blood tests at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center came back negative, despite earlier reports from police that she appeared to be under the influence of a substance when she was taken from her home after a custody dispute last night.
“Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any kind,” a source close to the Spears family tells Life & Style."
