Tom Cruise Tried to Score Jennifer Garner Before Katie!

Jennifer Garner and Tom Cruise

Andrew Morton, author of Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography (on store shelves today!), claims in his book that before Tom captivated the mind, soul, and body of his lovely wife, Katie Holmes, he tried to score Jennifer Garner! Specifically, Us Magazine reports:

Morton writes that Cruise left messages on the Alias star's voice mail in 2004 asking "if she knew what freedom was," but his advances were rebuffed."

You know, the whole "freedom" thing is a little creepy. I mean, it makes this crazy Scientologist thing with Tom look like some elaborate weird belief system he uses to try to lure hot, successful women into his life. But, surprisingly, you have to admire the brilliance of his approach. He went with the 'ole "question" strategy, in which you initiate conversation with a hot baby carrot by asking her a question... you can't hate on Tom for that, it's ingenius.

In fact, I do the very same thing when I approach women. I go right up to the them and ask: "Umm, excuse me, ma'm, but what do the five fingers say to the face?" Then, when they're startled and not quite sure what to say... I come out of nowhere with a forceful SLAP! to the face. Then, I politely ask them if they want to go somewhere quiet and make out. It usually doesn't work, but every once in a while you score a lonely toothless chick who won't say no to anyone. But hey, those other chicks who denied me, if they weren't feeling that approach, they weren't my kind of girl anyway!
