Friends and loved ones of Heath Ledger (pictured above) said an emotional farewell to the actor by diving into the ocean at sunset on a beach in his hometown of Perth, Australia on Saturday. Specifically, The New York Daily News reports:
Friends and family of Heath Ledger plunged into the ocean at sunset Saturday in an emotional farewell to the actor, whose remains were cremated after a private service.
Ex-girlfriend Michelle Williams and about 50 other mourners waded into the water off Cottesloe Beach in Perth following the wake for the "Brokeback Mountain" star, People magazine reported.
Ledger's father, Kim, watched loved ones splash in the water from the balcony of the Indiana Tea House and shouted, "Hip hip, hooray!"
"It's exactly what Heath would have wanted," a mourner told the mag."

Although little good can come from something as terrible as the tragic loss of what many say was a very talented and good man, it really is inspiring to see those closest to Heath celebrate his life during such a devastating time.
