Kanye West accepted his Grammy for best Rap Album at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards Show last night in a very unique way. Wearing his patented white sunglasses, dressed in a strange jacket with flashing lights on the front, and rocking a haircut with the word "MAMA" carved into his head, Kanye expressed his thoughts on his award and other subjects. Specifically, he made it clear that he thought only he and Amy Winehouse were worthy of the Album of the Year award (which ended up going to jazz musician Herbie Hancock), and he also demanded that music stop being played over him as he attempted to express his thanks to his mother, the late Donda West.
Although I believe that it was in bad taste for music to be played over Kanye's voice, especially when he was saying a word to his mother... he didn't hesitate to ruin everything with his arrogance when he said: "You gotta time the album out better, you can't drop them in the same year is me... this is my award." Yea, umm... Kanye, do me a favor... accidentally step on your white sunglasses... because no matter how much you can back up your arrogance with your awards, you still look like an idiot who stole some little girl's sunglasses right off her head at some beach. And, frankly, it's not really a good look for a hip hop star!
