Apparently Jessica Simpson did a fitness video for a company called "Speedfit" back in 2005, but when it was time for the fitness DVD to be released, Jessica backed out despite being under contract. Now, of course, Speedfit owner Alex Astilean has filed suit against Jessica's father and manager, Joe Simpson. Specifically, Us Magazine reports:
After signing a multi-million dollar contract, Jessica, 27, recorded a workout tape for Speedfit shortly before shooting her role as Daisy Duke in 2005's The Dukes of Hazzard.
Jessica then changed her mind about doing the tape and her father Joe banned its release, Speedfit claims.
Now Speedfit owner Alex Astilean has filed suit against Joe after failing to secure a $10 million settlement from his daughter last year... "They are hurting millions of fat people in America!" Astilean tells Usmagazine.com. "I believe that very strongly — they held the video for years!""
All right, well with this Alex Astilean guy saying things like that... he's obviously just a money-hungry scumbag who thinks this whole thing is a joke and just wants to score some major cash. But, I'm more curious about one little thing here: why wouldn't Jessica want her fitness DVD to be released? I mean, sure, she's pretty much a big, dumb, idiot (and I say that with a lot of love, I think Jessica's fantastic... dumb girls are vulnerable), but she's really hot and has an incredible physique! So, what's the problem with the release of the video? The only thing I can think of is that the whole theme of it went horribly wrong somehow...
For some reason, I keep picturing this whole thing in my head with Jessica wearing one of those one-piece fitness leotards with pink leg-warmers exercising with some weird guy with a French accent wearing nothing but spandex bicycle shorts and those L.A. Gear sneakers with the lights saying things in his thick French accent like "Now you got your L.A. Gears, start moving those feet, and maybe one day you will be as fit and good looking as me so you can make a sex with a hot celebrity like Le Jessica!!!" Yea, so I can see how being a part of something like that would make Jessica a little shy about the whole DVD release!
