Amy Winehouse has been diagnosed with a bacterial skin infection called impetigo. Apparently, the infection is highly contagious and causes grotesque, visible lumps! Specifically, People Magazine says:
It's a bacterial skin infection that causes pimple-like lumps – and is "is highly contagious, and scratching or touching the sores is likely to spread the infection to other parts of the body as well as to other people," according to the Mayo Clinic's Web site.
And yes, Winehouse, 24, had been prescribed drugs ... in the form of antibiotics. "
A highly contagious bacterial skin disease... that's filthy. I mean, I knew Amy was pretty unkept and dirty to begin with, but I didn't know she was so disgusting that she could let some vicious skin bacteria start eating away at her. That's pretty gross. I bet when Amy was in elementary school as a little kid, she was the smelly kid in class!
All of this is pretty gross, but I should warn you guys, it's not nice to pass judgment on people before you get to really know them. For example, back in my elementary school, there was this smelly kid in class named "Steve." He looked relatively normal, but when you got near him you noticed there were a lot of stains on his shirt and he smelled like cat urine. But, over time, I got to know Steve, and I realized that it wasn't his fault that he was smelly, he was just really poor and he lived with his family of carnies (creepy little carnival folk) down by the dumpster behind the McDonalds around the corner from the school.
Okay, okay, maybe that part about the carnies and the dumpster was an exaggeration... but he was really poor and smelly... but the point here is, once I got to know him, he wasn't so bad. He could even stick a hot dog up one of his nostrils. Sure, sounds silly now, but back in the third grade, a talent like that was legendary... and big Stevie, despite being the smelly kid, became a legend overnight. He was an absolute "leg" (pronounced "ledge", short for "legend"). Anyway, sorry for the tangent, but the moral of the story here is that once you got to know Steve, he was a pretty good kid... so, I suggest you don't be so harsh on Amy until you come to understand her situation in life. Then again I'm pretty sure she's just a crazy crack addict, and in that case, pass judgment all you want!
