Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have named their newborn twins Max and Emme! TMZ says:
The show is made to help children learn life lessons through the sibling's adventures, and mixes in Spanish language to promote a bilingual experience for the audience."
J-Lo named her kids after two characters from a cartoon that deliberately mixes in the Spanish language to promote the need to know both Spanish and English? What is this? Some kind of attempt to support illegal immigration in the United States? I have no problem with celebrities having their own social and political views, in fact, it stirs up a lot of controversy and concern which is a good thing for a sometimes politically apathetic American public. But naming your kids to make some sort of statement (which is not a given fact here, yet appears to be what's going on) is pathetic! Plus, why didn't they name the boy after his daddy... he could be little Ricky Martin Jr.. It's a cool name, it's marketable, and he could grow up to be a great latin singer like his daddy. Ahh well, I guess you'll never know the reasons behind celebrities' actions.
NOTE: I have just been informed that J-Lo's son's father is actually Marc Anthony and not Ricky Martin. I don't know why, in my head, I'll this time, I was thinking Ricky Martin... maybe I just don't know enough about the the Latin music world... but up until this point, I always just thought that those two guys were the same person. Kind of like some sort of enigmatic super-hero in the Latin world. Marc Anthony is the regular, everyday guy... but at night, when things get tough, he goes into a telephone booth, changes into his red spandex tights and flies around as his alter-ego Ricky Martin, stopping criminals by singing "Livin' La Vida Loca" and shaking his latin man-booty until the criminals get so hot that they pass out. Hmm... I guess all of this time I was horribly misinformed. Oh well, you live and you learn.
