New reports are now claiming that the tabloids have offered $10 million for exclusive rights to the first pictures of Angelina's unborn child! Specifically, The New York Post's Page Six reports:
Pregnant stars are now "treating this like a game," said National Enquirer Executive Editor Barry Levine.
"It's become big business now," Levine said. "It's outrageous, they've gotten very sophisticated. The rights are bought up now even before the celeb enters the hospital. They hire extra security so it's impossible to obtain a photo illegally."
Levine said stars now realize that having a child is "akin to getting a role in a movie." And the glossies don't mind paying because they recoup the money over time with magazine sales, Web hits, and by re-selling the photos overseas.
Angelina Jolie, rumored to be carrying twins, could nab up to $10 million for selling the first exclusive photos of the babies, Levine estimates."
Wow, $10 million for pictures of Angelina's babies... that's insane! You can make a whole career out of just being pregnant in Hollywood these days! Though, you know, I think it's a little unfair... I mean, just think if all of those 16-year-old pregnant white trash tramps got some cash once they were knocked up in my high school days. I mean, nothing too big... I'm from a pretty poor city... so, maybe like 5 or 10 grand just to get the chick started with expenses... it would be a tremendous help! I think tabloids should give that kind of money to pregnant teens... it could really help them out. Or, if that's too much, they should give at least a bottle of vodka and a carton of cigs... you know, to hold the pregnant teen over for a few days so she can get her fix!
