Despite People Magazine claiming that a source has "confirmed" to them that Ashlee Simpson is pregnant, Ashlee's fiancé, Pete Wentz, is now publicly saying that such claims are ridiculous! Specifically, MTV News reports:
Well, according to a pair of well-known gossip publications, the answer to both questions is a resounding "yes."
Of course, Wentz begs to differ.
In an e-mail to MTV News, Wentz denied reports that surfaced Monday (April 14) on the Web sites of OK! magazine and Us Weekly that he and Simpson, 23, are expecting their first child.
"There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood," he wrote. "This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. ... I mean really, this is crazy. ... I mean we're engaged, that's true, and happy about it."
Asked again if he was denying reports that Simpson is pregnant, Wentz, 28, replied, "Yeah.""
See, all of this is confusing to me. One moment sources are confirming that Ashlee and Pete brought are going to bring new life into this world, now Pete is talking about how the media is blowing things out of proportion by suggesting that he and Ashlee are expecting a child. But, what's this whole talk about the media being so crazy that he's expecting them to say that he's in a gay relationship and the whole Ashlee engagement thing is just a cover. Hmm... that's odd to me... because I didn't notice anyone saying anything remotely close to that. Which can mean only one thing: Pete's trying to cover up his true sexuality by getting engaged to Ashlee! Or, maybe he's somehow trying to tell us that Ashlee is really a dude! After all, it makes sense... no chick with that much make-up and plastic surgery would still be that ugly... it has to be dude! ZING!
