Sources indicate that Britney Spears is currently being investigated for possible child abuse.
TMZ reports that:
"An unscheduled hearing was held today at L.A. County Superior Court. Present -- Britney's lawyer, Dennis Wasser, K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan and a lawyer from the Los Angeles County Counsel who is assigned to the dependency court."
Although specifics of the case have been yet to be revealed, it has been confirmed that the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services has begun conducting an active investigation.
A hearing scheduled for September 4th should reveal more details about the case and formally address what this means with respect to K-Fed's wishes to obtain full custody of the children.
