Believe it or not, Britney Spears actually showed up in court today to face K-Fed and Commissioner Scott Gordon for a child custody hearing... and it actually looks like there might be a promising outcome for Britney after all!
Britney, looking her best in a brown and white polka-dot dress and straightened blonde locks, waited patiently in a holding area until around 9:37 am PT while Commissioner Scott Gordon dealt with matters in other cases.
When their case was finally called, the superstar entered the courtroom with her mom, Lynne and father Jamie, who sat in the back row. They were joined by Blair Burke, the lawyer who represents Britney's father. Both Brit and Kevin, decked out in a beige suit, gold earrings and pinky ring, were sworn in by Gordon...
Around 10:45am PT, a spokesperson for the court told reporters that today's hearing is currently on an extended break while both parties discuss a compromise — though he would not elaborate on what exactly they were considering compromising over.
Likely, they are hammering out a deal for prolonged, or perhaps even overnight, visitation for Britney with her two sons."
Wow, so this is it... after months of trying to get back on track and improve her image, Britney finally made it to the courtroom and could score a ruling that could give her prolonged and/or overnight visitation with her kids! Go Britney! That's great stuff! I'm actually sort of happy for her. You know, despite all of her crazy antics, a part of me just still has a vision of her in that "Slave 4 U" video back in her prime and I really hope that comes back one day. I know it's a long shot... but man, I've seen crazier things happen... like, oh I don't know, a crazy celebrity broad who was running around in pink wigs and fishnets putting herself together and getting a real chance to see her kids! See, anything's possible, people! Anything!
We'll keep you posted on any updates with respect to the custody ruling.
