Paris Hilton has publicly declared that she's desperate for a baby and is convinced that she will be a good parent because she has successfully cared for a number of various types of animals! Specifically, the news website PR-Inside.com reports:
The heiress has said she would like to get pregnant soon, following her close friend and Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie's step into motherhood earlier this year (Jan08).
And the socialite insists she is a capable guardian - because she has raised a menagerie of pets, including a ferret, a chinchilla, a kinkajou and over a dozen dogs.
She says, "I have lots of beautiful animals that I look after and I feel I would have a lot to give my children.""
This whole comparing of the raising of animals to the raising of children is just a little bit creepy to me. Paris is talking about all of these various animals that she's cared for as a "capable guardian" and now she wants to try out her skills with a real, live human being! However, I don't know if successfully raising animals is good enough to prove that you're ready for a kid. In fact, Paris kind of sounds like one of those crazy cat ladies that lives by herself with like 15 cats.
Actually, I knew a cat lady like that once, and despite her uncanny ability to care for all of her cats, she just walked around in dirty sweatpants and a filthy, stained, "Hard Rock Cafe" sweatshirt (regardless of the season) and ate dry cornflakes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. See, that lady couldn't even take care of herself, nevermind a whole other human! Seriously, Paris, I think you should think this throw before you go get knocked up... this might not be as good for you and the kid as you hope!
