According to a new report in the Daily Telegraph, Christian Bale is currently in custody in London. The rumor is that Bale is facing charges after assaulting his 61-year old mother Jenny and 40-year old sister Sharon on Sunday. A report was supposedly filed yesterday, but police wanted to wait until after last night’s London premiere of The Dark Knight to take Bale into custody.
A police spokesperson made the following statement:
Bale is 34-years old.
This all sounds very suspicious and I’m sure that Bale’s publicist will be making a statement by the end of the day. Until then people can just speculate as usual. It never helps when an actor gets in trouble, because a lot of people have trouble separating the person from the roles they played. “Christian Bale was the American Psycho… oh man, he definitely did that! I bet he was singing ‘Sussudio’ while he was beating them up!!” At least people love Batman, so that’s working in his favor.
I also love how actors can postpone going to jail for premieres and other industry work. I don’t think that would work if Christian Bale were a landscaper…
