Celeb Parasite

Lance Armstrong

Lance Armstrong is a 7-time Tour de France winner and cancer survivor. He sucks at Scrabble, but I guess I’ll let that slide because those other achievements are so impressive.

Anyway, Lance’s bike riding career is long over, and after living the celebrity lifestyle for awhile, it looks like he may be ready to get into politics.

Armstrong spoke with reporters yesterday at the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s Livestrong Summit in Columbus, OH…

"There might come a time when you feel like you've reached a wall and you need to step into public office and try to make change through that channel or those ends."

No word on exactly what office Armstrong might run for, but one issue the cyclist is very passionate about is cancer research. Luckily, he believes that both of the country’s current Presidential candidates support the cause. He said:

Senator McCain is a cancer survivor himself. Senator Obama, I know, is committed after having lost his mother to this disease."

Well of course they support it. Who doesn’t support cancer research? Alright, actually there was one guy; the little-known independent 2004 Presidential candidate Trevor Stevenson, whose official stance on the issue was “Cancer: Walk It Off.” Needless to say, his campaign failed miserably.

Good luck to Lance if he decides to run. Not that he ever needs luck.
