Amy Winehouse spent last night in the hospital, thanks to a dangerous mixture of medicine that resulted in a bad reaction. Did you know you can’t mix Tylenol PM with crack? Yeah, you learn something every day.
Winehouse was taken to London’s Royal College Hospital in a wheelchair. The singer is of course an avid drug enthusiast; however, she also suffers from emphysema, and her father Mitch seems to be in straight-up denial mode. Mitch told the BBC News (via US Magazine):
I’m no doctor but I wouldn’t rule the drug overdose thing out. You know Amy Winehouse is only 24, right? Not 45, as she appears in these pictures. You shouldn’t be rushed to the hospital at age 24 unless something is seriously wrong.
You see kids, that’s what drugs will do to you. They slowly destroy your body both inside and out, giving you the appearance of being much older than you are while withering away your internal organs until you’re unable to function. Meanwhile, they mess up your brain’s ability to make rational decisions, affecting your judgment until one day, in your demented mind, you actually believe that an overdose wouldn’t be that bad of an option. That’s why you should avoid drugs and stick to hardcore binge drinking only. Not only does alcohol taste great, but it makes you really happy and causes members of the opposite sex to find you irresistible. And there are no side effects whatsoever. It’s just like that one PSA from the 1980s… “When you drink booze, you can’t ever lose!” Or something like that.
