Christina Could Have Picked a More Functional Dress

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera is part of a new ad campaign celebrating the 150th birthday of Macy’s department stores. The attached photograph will appear in Macy’s stores nationwide this fall. Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger all participated in the print campaign as well. Of course none of them are remotely as attractive as Christina Aguilera so you won’t be seeing those pictures here.

Access Hollywood says:

As for Christina’s photo, which shows the pop diva in a stunning dress adorned by a wall of flowers, the photo harkens back to the Macy’s Flower Shows, which first debuted in California stores in 1946.

However, Christina isn’t the only blonde singing bombshell to team up with Macy’s. According to previous reports, Jessica Simpson was in New York last week shooting a holiday commercial for the department store chain."

What is with Aguilera’s giant dress? Did women really wear that stuff in 1946? Please tell me Macy’s isn’t trying to bring it back. I understand (and appreciate) that girls want to look good, but some chicks will wear the most non-functional clothing if they think it will impress other girls. They’ll literally hurt themselves trying to look good. Meanwhile you try getting a guy to wear a button-down shirt to a funeral and he’ll complain. “Screw that, I’m wearing my Steve Miller Band t-shirt! Grandma’s already dead, it’s not like she’s gonna care!!”
