The most recent issue of Star Magazine features a story about how Matthew Broderick had allegedly cheated on Sarah Jessica Parker with a “gorgeous redhead.” This is just a rumor of course, but that didn’t stop them from putting it on the cover along with a giant picture of Sarah Jessica looking displeased. Bold face type, a forlorn picture, and an unnamed inside source? I gotta admit, that’s an overwhelming amount of evidence.
So did Broderick really cheat? Judging by a new story in OK! Magazine, I have no idea. They say the couple looked very happy during a walk on the beach the other day.
Magazine reports are often wrong, but these two are also professional actors, so I don’t know what to believe.
Here’s what I’m curious about:
We all know that supermarket checkout lines are covered with the latest gossip magazines. I went to the grocery store yesterday and the Star Magazine with Sarah Jessica on the cover was all over the place. So what happens when Sarah Jessica goes to the grocery store, and has to stand in line next to all the magazines saying “Sarah Jessica’s Husband is a Cheater?” Does she feel obligated to tell everyone else in line that it’s not true? Does she pull down her hat and put on sunglasses and hope no one notices? Does she avoid shopping all together whenever she’s on a magazine cover? Being a celebrity must be really complicated. I’m starting to believe that maybe celebrities aren’t just like us.
