Diddy, Usher, and Nelly Caught in Gunfire at Club!

Nelly and Diddy

R&B superstar Usher was “caught up” in gunfire at an Atlanta club this weekend after an angry club patron turned violent. Get it? “Caught up,” like the Usher song. Diddy, Nelly, Gabrielle Union and other celebrities were also there, but none of them have songs that are as conducive to club shooting puns.

The party was hosted by Jermaine Dupri as part of the So So Def Summerfest concert. Gunfire broke out around 4:00 AM, frightening partiers and disproving the longstanding theory that Atlanta parties “don’t stop til 8 in the mornin’!”

The AP describes the situation:

Rap mogul Sean (Diddy) Combs, singer Usher and actress Gabrielle Union were partying inside Club Dreams around 4 a.m. when a loud noise rang out, WSB-TV reported.

Bodyguards hustled the stars to safety so quickly that Combs didn't even have time to put down a bottle of what appeared to be Veuve Clicquot champagne.

Police spokesman Marcus Hodge said an unknown man began to fire shots and that a security guard from the club was shot in the arm, WSB-TV reported.

Hodge said the violence began after some patrons were being charged twice for the party and then escorted out after getting rowdy."

Shooting is a natural reaction to being overcharged. I remember one time a bartender charged me $4.50 for a Miller Lite. They were supposed to be $3.50, so I shot him in the face. Don’t worry, he’s fine, and I think he learned a valuable lesson. But it goes to show, no matter how many precautions you take, some things can’t be prevented.

One last amazing quote from a clubgoer:

I guess you could say they went out with a bang," partyer Kellen Buffington told WSB-TV.

You could also say that the bouncer who got shot was dying of excitement!! Nah, I’m kidding.
