The other day it was reported that Mary-Kate Olsen was being investigated by federal authorities in relation to Heath Ledger’s death. Feds were curious how Ledger obtained the OxyContin that led to his overdose, and were questioning those close to the late actor. Everyone was fully cooperative except for Olsen, who provided authorities with some details then decided that was enough.
On Tuesday I suggested that authorities stop with this case and investigate something more important, like say, I don’t know, jaywalking. Today the feds decided to take my advice and drop the investigation, thus clearing Mary-Kate of any possible liability. From US Magazine:
Ledger passed away in January from a dangerous combination of medicines, including the aforementioned OxyContin.
Finding out exactly how Heath Ledger died won’t change a thing, and there are plenty of real crimes going on at this very moment that the feds could be looking into. Plus I love being right. Therefore I fully support them dropping this case. It’s also good to know that Mary-Kate Olsen’s policy of telling police whatever she thinks is sufficient actually works. I’m gonna use that next time I get in trouble. “Yeah officer, I saw the murder happen. No, I’m not going to tell you who did it. I’ve already missed half of the Steelers game, I need to get home to catch the 4th quarter. The victim’s name is Jim. His favorite CD is Sergeant Pepper’s. You can figure out the rest.”
