Earlier today, it was reported that Hayden Panettiere's father, Alan Panettiere, had allegedly struck Hayden's mom with a closed fist and was arrested for felony domestic abuse.
"We don't know if the victim is going to pursue [the charges]," Steve Whitmore, a spokesperson for the West Hollywood Sheriff's Dept., tells OK!. "Anytime there is a domestic allegation, the victim is offered an emergency protection order, basically a restraining order. She declined it."
Wow, I guess this whole situation between Hayden Panettiere's mom and dad really escalated into a serious issue. But it's nice to see that she declined the immediate restraining order and maybe that suggests that she hopes to work things out in private. I hope everything works out between Hayden's mom and dad.
Then again, it's surprising that everything seems to be resolved so easily. Maybe there wasn't a fight between the mother and father and Hayden and the two just got a little roughed up by some evil villains and Hayden fought them off with her crazy Heroes cheerleader super powers and they're trying to cover it up with domestic abuse allegations. What!? It could happen!!!
