Okay, there comes a time when you have to admit you're an idiot, and that time came for me yesterday, the day before yesterday and pretty much every day of my life. And it applies today too. Everyone likes making fun of the girls on The Hills and their 35 spin-offs because we assume their talentless hacks with a crappy show. And while that may be true, they know how to turn a friggin' profit. Heidi Montag is into just about every business possible, including selling Guatemalan babies at discount prices, and now Lauren Conrad is a best selling author. AP reports:
Her first book for teens, "L.A. Candy" (HarperCollins, 326 pages, $17.99), has topped The New York Times best-seller list for children's chapter books. For two straight weeks, Conrad's novel about a young woman living in Los Angeles, who gets discovered for her own reality show, has made the list.
Conrad, 23, who left the show in May, has a deal to write two more books about the characters. She talked with The Associated Press about "L.A. Candy," paparazzi and frenemy Heidi Montag Pratt's faith.
