Now that Paula Abdul is appropriately serving ice cream on roller skates, American Idol needed a guest judge to fill in for the auditions and found a great one in Shania Twain. People magazine has details:
Cowell isn't the only one having fun with Twain, 44. "The crew loved working with her," says an Idol source. "Everyone thought she was a great addition to the judges' table. She showed up in good spirits and had a lot of fun. She was clearly really excited to be a part of the day."
Even though this article makes the AI auditions seem like a giant romantic orgy, it's not really all that surprising that she's a better fit than Paula Abdul. I've never sang a single note in tune in my life, and I would be a better judge than her. You could seriously put a Teddy Ruxpin doll in that seat and it would do the same job. And now I know at least one of you people reading this are getting all nostalgic for Teddy Ruxpin. I miss him too.
