So Tila Tequila, that Asian chick that got famous via MySpace, is claiming that San Diego Chargers player, Shawn Merriman, choked her. He's of coure saying he didn't. TMZ says:
San Diego Sheriff's deputies responded to a call this morning at 3:45 AM. Tila claims she was "choked and physically restrained" by Merriman after she tried to leave his residence.
Merriman is accused of battery and false imprisonment.
Tila was transported to a local hospital while Merriman was taken into custody. His bail was set at $58,000.

UPDATE -- A lawyer for Merriman denied all charges and says Tila was "extremely inebriated" and that Merriman tried to stop her from leaving the home because he didn't feel it was safe for her to do so

Tila went on later to say it's impossible for her to have been drunk because she's allergic to alcohol, hence the irony of her name. I have a suspicion that irony didn't give her the name "tequila" but rather, because she'll bang anyone in the room when she's had alcohol. But that's just my expert opinion, take it or leave it.
Anyway, regardless of the outcome, I think I can safely say a statue of Shawn Merriman should be erected if the allegations are true. He did what most of us have been wanting to do for years. Football AND strangling Tila Tequila? So lucky.
