Jay Leno decided to let Kanye West on his new show to apologize because Jay has a big chin and loves ratings, and here's basically how it went down according to People:
Explaining why he was giving a shout-out to the other nominee, Beyoncé, West said, "My entire life, I've only wanted to give and do something that I felt was right. And I immediately knew in the situation that it was wrong, and it wasn't a spectacle or just – you know, it's actually someone's emotions, you know, that I stepped on."
Concurring with many of the sentiments expressed by critics since the incident, West said, "And it was very … rude, period. And, you know, I'd like to be able to apologize to her in person."
The difference between Kanye and the rest of us civilized people is that we realize something like this is wrong BEFORE we do it. Acting now and thinking later is usually something a 4 year old or a retarded person does, so I'm not sure which category he falls into, but surely it's one of them. The guy's an idiot and an endless amount of apologies will never change that.
