Everyone knows about David Letterman and his affair with an employee now considering he talked about it on his own show for a week straight. And now a former employee there has decided to make matters worse for no real reason other than to satisfy a deep need for attention that Daddy never provided. Or something like that. AP reports:
Nell Scovell, writing for Vanity Fair online Tuesday, said she had no intention of filing a lawsuit and wasn't seeking revenge.
"I wanted to shine a light on gender inequality in that particular workplace," Scovell, who went on to a successful Hollywood career, said in a telephone interview.
In the Vanity Fair article, Scovell said Letterman didn't "hit on her" during her roughly five-month stint with NBC's "Late Night with David Letterman" in 1990.
"Did he pay me enough extra attention that it was noted by another writer? Yes. Was I aware of rumors that Dave was having sexual relationships with female staffers? Yes," Scovell wrote.
A whole bunch of people basically work for one guy (Letterman), so it seems like common sense that they would talk about him in pretty much every way possible. For example, I'm sure they discussed his weird teeth too, but you don't see anyone talking about that. And I'm not defending Letterman because I like him; in fact, I kinda hate him and wish he'd have sex with a donkey on the air so his show would get the boot. That probably won't happen, but I'll keep my eye out.
