Elton John Wants to Support the HIV Kid He Couldn't Adopt

Elton John's partner has recently said he and Elton will support the Ukrainian toddler with HIV that they couldn't adopt, according to the AP:

The 62-year-old pop star met 14-month-old Lev at a home for HIV-positive children in September. But he was refused permission to adopt the boy because he was too old and not married.

John's partner David Furnish said Tuesday the couple was "massively gutted" by the rejection.

Furnish told BBC radio they were working to ensure Lev and his brother "have the best health care, education and family options available to them."

You know you're a weird dude with way too much money when you're devastated over not being able to adopt a kid with HIV. Not to be insensitive, but who sits around specifically wanting a kid with a terminal illness? That's not heroic, it's kinda sick really. I suppose when you're 62 years old and finally wanting to become a father, you need to get a kid that's not going to live very long anyway. Just a guess.
