Ben Stiller, the iconic funny man who has been in hits such as "Tropic Thunder," "Meet the Parents," and "Dodgeball" is now taking on a more serious role. "Greenberg," by Noah Baumbach, features Ben Stiller playing a man in a serious mid-life crisis. Stiller plays a man in his forties who ends up house-sitting for his brother in Hollywood. All the while, he tries to reconnect with old friends and start a new relationship that basically goes to crap at every turn.
According to Reuters, Ben may be feeling a lot like how the depressed main character feels in "Greenberg:"
"There is a feeling like you have ... your life ahead of you. Greenberg is really coming up against the fact that he doesn't. You have to accept those things and that's part of growing up."
"Greenberg" just premiered at the Berlin film festival and the low-budget film has been attracting some attention. I just hope that Ben can get back to being funny after this. It's so stressful to see him be serious. It's like seeing a cute kitten that you used to love grow up to be a mangy, street-cat. I want Kitten-Ben again!
