Shutter Island Makes $40.2 Million

Shutter Island made $40.2 million after its debut, making it No. 1 at the weekend box office. In case that big number doesn't really mean much to you, here are some facts from the AP that will put it into perspective:

Scorsese's previous personal best was $26.9 million with his 2006 Academy Awards champ "The Departed," which also starred DiCaprio. The biggest previous debut for DiCaprio was $30.1 million for 2002's "Catch Me If You Can."

That $40.2 million is nothing to scoff at. It was the 4th collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio - a formula that obviously works. The creepy crime thriller, set at an isolated insane asylum, is likely to attract any kind of movie fan. The real question about the movie, though, I want answered is this:

What happens to Mark Ruffalo?
