Possibly the best part about the The Tonight Show, Kevin Eubanks, is going to be leaving. The only reason that the show was tolerable is because Kevin made the camera look away from Jay Leno for precious seconds. Don't fret though, there will be another minority replacing Kevin so that you won't have to stare at The Chin all night. NBC has announced Kevin will be replaced by American Idol music director Rickey Minor. He'll be starting as Kevin's replacement on June 7.
It sounds like a good deal for NBC, since Minor has collaborated with stars such as Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Ray Charles and Beyonce.
Kevin Eubanks has been working with Jay Leno since 1992. I hope that he is leaving of his own volition and isn't being slid back to a different time slot because of Jay... if you catch my drift.
