The former "American Idol" contestant Katharine McPhee is such a terrorist. And when I say terrorist, I mean she broke several important laws on an airplane. Hmm. That didn't seem to clear things up.
The crime she committed? Turning on her cell phone at 36,000 feet and then bragging about it live via Twitter.
During a flight that she was on this week, she tweeted, "I love illegally turning on my phone when I'm still in the air ... makes me feel powerful! A tweet from the sky. Hello Atlanta!"
It's against FCC laws to turn on your phone after take off and the penalties include a large fine and suspension of cellular service. McPhee's rep says, "She posted when we landed in Atlanta. She was trying to be funny but obviously some people missed the humor."
We're pretty sure that when Kat said she loves turning on her phone in a plane, she was serious, and it was not a joke. Period.
