Elton John and his husband, David Furnish, are now proud and extremely gay parents. Their son Zachary was born on Christmas Day of a surrogate mother. Even though there were plenty of needy, starving children out there who needed good, loving families.
"We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment," John and Furnish tell Us in a joint statement. "Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents." This is the first child for John, 62, and Furnish, 48. The couple married in 2005 after 12 years together.
You can't exactly be proud when you didn't do anything but take a plastic cup into a janitor's supply closet, have your way with it, then give it to a nurse.
