The New York Post's Page Six reveals that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's adopted Ethopian daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, was born as the result of a violent rape that Zahara's biological mother, Mentwabe Dawit, suffered in Ethiopia in 2004. Page Six reports:
You know, when you think about Angelina and Brad's relationship, or should I say, "Brangelina's" relationship, you can't help but think it's a bit of a strange situation. They've got all sorts of children from all over the world, but then you go and hear something like this, and it has a pretty powerful sobering affect on the emotions. I mean, what would have happened to poor little Zahara was never adopted by Brad and Angelina? She'd probably be starving to death somewhere in the slums of Ethiopia, if she were even alive at all, that is. Regardless of the publicity and the somewhat arrogant feel that sometimes emanates from celebrities when they do philanthropic things, I guess changing even just one life is enough. So, yea, I guess those two are doing big things in the world.
But hey, I'm doing good, pro-social things as well. For instance, the other day I gave a kid 1 dollar for a bag of M&Ms to help him raise money for his little league team. See that's good right!? What's even better is I paid the little bugger with 4 quarters. And one of them was Canadian! HA! Who's got the last laugh now, punk!?!?!
