The always beautiful and wonderfully charming Jessica Alba plans to take her acting talents to Broadway next year as "Karen" in a production of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow. Yea, I don't know either... it's some play. Anyway, Jessica says that she hopes to turn to Broadway for work in anticipation of an actor's strike in June, 2008. The news website PR-Inside.com reports:
It's nice to see an actress like Jessica being so responsible and having enough foresight to avoid potential problems in the future... you know, because she most certainly would go broke and become homeless if there were a strike in June. Are you serious!? Listen, Jessica, if you like to do Broadway stuff for fun, you can admit it. You don't have to hide it with lame excuses. If you like hanging out with flamboyant dudes who can't get enough showtunes and believe that other than God, the only other mighty power in this world is Nathan Lane... then go ahead! Enjoy it! There's nothing wrong with it! But saying you want to do Broadway because you don't want to lose work! Please!
Now, now, Jessica, scurry off before I decide that being beautiful is not enough for me to have respect for you... because, after that statement, you're beauty is all you've got at the moment, in my eyes. But, you know, Jessica... you might be able to win me over again... perhaps with something involving, oh, I don't know... perhaps a sponge bath and chamomile tea! Oh, you'll do it? Just for me? Oh, Jessica, I knew you'd come around!
Here's Jessica being hot even in the wintery cold of Toronto (note the pun) shopping with a friend yesterday:
