Recently, it was reported that John Mayer admitted to Ricki Lake that he had a huge crush on her and he was text messaging her all night about his love for her. However, Ricki says it was nothing! People Magazine reports:
Whoa, Ricki, easy there. The reporter didn't ask for any intimacy! I know if I did an interview with you, I'd want you to keep your damn pudgey hands to yourself! Aww, okay, I didn't mean that. You're a cool chick, Ricki. You're like one of those weird, hippie chicks with lots of ideas that do strange things for fun, like pant and attend shows at a nearby repertory theater. Maybe she's actually nothing like that, but that's just the impression that I have of her in my head, and I'm a little screwed up so don't listen to me. Anyway, about the possibility of getting with Johnny boy, it seems that she sort of wished it actually happened. People magazine reports:
Aww, that's so cute and sad all at the same time. The cute part is that she's like a little kid, all giddy about a famous musician guy showing her some love. It's sad though because she lost her chance, and she knows that was her only chance. It's not that Ricki's ugly, she's well... I don't know... medium-looking. But I'm still waiting for John to come out and say that this whole thing was some sort of bet. Just like that Freddie Prinze Jr. movie, She's All That I think was the name of it. You know, some guy dares him to go talk to the ugly chick and lead her on... then he actually ends up falling in love with her. You know, I'm just waiting for that to happen between John and Ricki, because I still can't believe that of all the hot, famous women in the world, a big-time musician like John picks Ricki Lake. It just doesn't add up. I'm just waiting for the token cocky high-school quarterback to come out and say "All right, enough madness, I was the one who put John up to this, it was a bet all along." Then I'm going to watch John and Ricki cry because of the ensuing emotional turmoil as I eat a bag of microwave popcorn and laugh a horribly sinister laugh at their sudden plight!
